When a guy starts college, he probably isn't thinking what
type of dress he will need in order to fit into a particular
college group.
Many probably don't realize the importance of how they dress
will affect their status in a certain college or university.
It has been proven that the way you present yourself does
affect your value in college society.
Whether you could pass as a model or if you consider
yourself not that good looking,
we've listed some dress tips for every college guys.
- NEATNESS COUNTS: If your clothes are not wrinkled,
then the battle is half way won.
- IMAGINATION: Dressing up is an art and requires a
bit of imagination. Add color. If you are a basic black
type of guy, this is fine. However, try adding a colored
T-shirt with your black jeans and black button down
shirt. If on the other hand, you're a polo shirt person,
then try wearing polo shirts or long sleeves with
slacks. This is possible the most basic type of dress
many college men wear.
- MATCH COLORS: Most men don't see as many colors as
women. If you have a hard time distinguishing colors,
ask for help. When you find clothes that fit, and that
you will enjoy wearing, then find shirts or pants that
the colors will match. For
instance, light blue will go nicely with khaki but not
dark brown. Brown shirts
and pants are hard to match with other colors except
black, white, and beige. Try
experimenting with the colors of the clothes you already
have to find different
combinations that complement each other.
- MAKE IT EASY: When you put your clothes away, group
what items go together. This will make it easy for you
to grab something to throw on, which matches, when you
only have seconds to make it to your morning class.
- SHOES: Shoes are always a neglected item of a
college man's fashion. Your shoes should suit your shirt
and pants. For instances, CROCSTM go great with casual
wear like shorts and a T-shirt, but not so with attire
fit for a formal function.
- DRESS for the WEATHER: Try to wear clothes that are
appropriate for the weather. You don't want to long
sleeves during the hot summer. This also goes for long
jackets.
These are some basic tips that can have a great effect on
how you are view and your
social status in your school. However, the last tip that I
will give is possible the best and that is COMFORT. Wear
clothes that you're comfortable wearing. When you are
comfortable with your appearance you project a sense of
confidence that people will see and respect.
